Strelley - the lovely old folks community where my Great Aunt Mabel lived for many years. |

The Happivale Club, 160-ish Tamworth Road, Long Eaton. The Happivale Club have many special needs people in the audience and we consider them all to be our friends and we really enjoy playing for them. We often take percussion instruments, shakers and masks and they will all join in and have a great time. |

St. George Society of England. We have performed twice for these friendly people who firmly believe in all that it is to be British and to hold the values and principles that Englishmen have held dear throughout the ages. This was a specially prepared programme of songs with a strong English connection finishing with Land of Hope and Glory, and Jerusalem. |
|
The Masonic Lodge, Goldsmith Street in Nottingham. We have played many times for these generous and friendly people at the invitation of Peter Whalley. The Masons raise a phenomenal amount of money for charitable causes and are, in my opinion at least, poorly understood by society as a whole for the good deeds that are their very reason d'être today. We have had some great times at Goldsmith Street where we have played along with events such as Piping in the Haggis, Sword Fighting, Ladies Nights, and a wedding in their chapel. |
|
The Masonic Lodge, West Bridgford. This was for the same Masonic group above but different venue. This was a specially prepared programme of songs from 1934. We were quite amazed at how many well known songs came from that year, and we also learned some new ones that have become favourites of ours and remain in our programme today. |
|
| 20-Nov-07 | The Gladstone Liberal Club. We had expected our programme to receive a cool reception at what is effectively a working peoples' club however we couldn't have been more mistaken. We had a really good night and played a full two hour concert with a very warm reception despite it being a miserable rainy evening that reduced the expected turnout. |

Special Raffle Concert. This concert followed a fund raising event at Carolyn's school where we were "auctioned" for charity. Carolyn and Cheryl did a mini taster concert with backings that I recorded for them and a portable p.a. and the act was sold. So on 20-Sep-08 we performed a special concert at a private party in Wollaton attended by an audience of around 45 people. The programme was chosen by Nick - the raffle winner. |
| 27-Sep-08 | Charity concert in aid of the Friary Drop-In Centre for the
homeless. This was a public concert in the Methodist Church Hall in
Ruddington with all proceeds to charity. The Methodist Church donated
the venue and Songs4U donated the concert so every penny of the
ticket money went to the beneficiaries. In total £480 was raised for the
Friary Drop-In Centre.

Charity concert in aid of the Maggies Appeal in Nottingham. The Maggies Appeal is building centres in major cities to support cancer suffers and their friends and relatives. Details of their scheme can be found here: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/north-east-news/campaigns-and-events/maggies-appeal/ This was a public concert in the Methodist Church Hall in Ruddington with all proceeds to the Maggies Appeal and it raised £870.20. The Methodist Church donated the venue and Songs4U donated the concert so every penny of the ticket money went to the beneficiaries. It played to a packed house and was a sell out. There were two guest singers who have both recovered from cancer, Alison Lawrence and Alan Richmond, and there was also a speech by Emma Critchley from the Nottingham Evening Post who is the Maggies Co-ordinator. |
